American Idol pays tribute to Whitney Houston
It seems that as a tribute to the recently deceased Whitney Houston, the 13 final contestant, the female ones will sing her songs, as for the men, they will sings for Stevie Wonder. This tribute has been in the making since Whitney Houston died; as the host of American Idol Ryan Seacrest hinted before that the show is planning to pay respects to the late star. And they did, as this will show the impact and the influence of Whitney Houston on young singers these days.

This will be on the 400th milestone episode of the show which will air next week. On 1st of march the final 11 contestants has been chosen on Thursday’s night, after 2 days of performance back to back, and judges had to chose 11 from 12 girls and 13 boys. Some of these top 13 contestants are DeAndre Brackensick, Jermaine Jones, Joshua Ledet, Phillips Phillips and Elise Testone.
Ten of these 13 has been chosen by the American public and the rest three wildcards were chosen by the judges (Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler). It has been also confirmed that the Mary J Blige, the former American Idol contestant known for her song “I’m Going Down” will act as a mentor to the contestants during this week of American Idol.
