American Idol’s Erika Van Pelt felt shafted by judges
Erika Van Pelt has confessed that they felt “shafted” by her American Idol experience. The 26-year-old Rhode Island native was eliminated from the Fox singing competition last week, with judges Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson & Steven Tyler choosing not to make use of their save of the season on her.

Van Pelt has since revealed that they was surprised by the result, as they felt that her talent warranted her a place in further stages of the show & was disappointed with the panelists for not keeping her around. She is quoted to have stated that she definitely felt a little shafted by their decision not to save her. She adds that it is of those things that, in hindsight, she is taking a look at it like they didn’t need to make use of their save this early.
She also adds that she was not expecting to be the first of the top ten to go home and that she is not sure they were expecting it either. She also goes on to say that she feels like even in the event that they felt like she didn’t deserve to go home, they didn’t need to waste that save in case The united states decided to do something crazy.
It was announced on Monday that Stevie Nicks will mentor the remaining Top 9 singers for this week’s idol theme.
