Ashthon Jones dropped from the American Idol
The first finalist to go home from the American Idol, in its tenth year, has been named Ashthon Jones.
The host Ryan Seacrest announced in the last episode Ashthon had received the least number of votes of all finalists. She was continuously finding herself in the bottom three with Haley Reinhart and Karen Rodriguez.

Jones’ last performance ‘When You Tell Me That You Love Me’ on the reality show could neither impress the judges nor the audience. Immediately after her performance, she was informed the judges were unlikely to use their save vote.
Jennifer Lopez, one of the judges, said to Jones after her elimination:
“Not this time baby, I’m sorry. It was unanimous. You know I was rooting for you and I’m sorry.”
With the elimination of Jones, only twelve contestants remain in the race to the top:
• Pia Toscano
• James Durbin
• Scotty McCreery
• Jacob Lusk
• Casey Abrams
• Lauren Alaina
• Karen Rodriguez
• Paul McDonald
• Stefano Langone
• Naima Adedapo
• Thia Megia
• Haley Reinhart
The episode which sent Jones home also witnessed former American Idol champion Adam Lambert singing ‘Aftermath,’ his new single, and Diddy Dirty Money performing ‘Coming Home.’
