The hit reality show “American Idol” is back on its tenth season. The premiere of season ten aired on January 19, 2011 via Fox network.
Season 10 of American Idol has big changes not only for the viewers but also for the contestants as well. In this season, the show opened the audition to 15 year old aspirants who wants to be the next American Idol.

Aside from that, new faces will be judging the contestants. Previous season judges bailed out of the show and only Randy Jackson remains as one of the panel judges. Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler now become the new judges of the hit reality show replacing Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres.
The musical team also faced new changes. Ray Chew is now the musical director of the show replacing Rickey Minor. Also, the partner record label of Idol is now the Universal Music Group replacing the pre-vious season’s band which is Sony Music Entertainment.
The timeslot of American Idol also changed from Tuesday and Wednesday to Wednesday and Thursday.
There are lots of new challenges waiting for the chosen finalists. After the Hollywood week, only 24 final-ists move on to compete for the title to be the next American Idol. Some of the foreseen challenges include creating their own music video, having to perform with band and back up dancers and to promote them-selves as artists.
